Alexander Reimer
I’m an Industrial Designer with a foundation in Mechanical Engineering, driven by a passion for creating original, user-focused products that are efficient, manufacturable, and grounded in real-world use. My approach blends engineering logic with hands-on making, ensuring ideas translate seamlessly from concept to production.
I grew up working with my hands—especially on cars like my Saab 92x Aero, Mitsubishi Evolution 8, and Subaru WRX. That curiosity for how things work initially led me into engineering, where I spent several years building technical fundamentals before transitioning fully into design. Along the way, I worked as a machinist operating industrial laser cutters, mills, and waterjets, and as an automotive technician focused on vehicle restoration. More recently, this path has evolved into designing and producing custom carbon fiber interior components.
Throughout my education, I’ve continued refining skills in product design and fabrication, including SolidWorks and Fusion, MIG and TIG welding, mold making, and carbon fiber manufacturing. My strongest work spans furniture, practical tools, and automotive accessories. I also gained professional experience through a design internship at NRGXP, where I worked as a design engineer—leading early ideation while collaborating closely with engineers through prototyping and production. This role allowed me to fully merge my engineering background with industrial design to bring novel products to life.
Outside of design, I enjoy spending time with my wife and daughter, tackling home renovation projects, and inevitably tinkering on one of our cars.
